worth every dollar...

the week before thanksgiving a note came home with kaden saying the school would be having a christmas store with gifts ranging from $1 - $20 for the students to buy for their families. cute idea. kaden made his list & i sent $20 to school with him this week.

i know, i know, a lot of money but i wanted him to be able to buy desecent gifts. he didn't spend it all - brought $1.50 back home! which he asked if he could have!

i pick him up from school, the gifts were wrapped & at the bottom of his tote. he talks about what he got daddy & brock. the excitment in his voice was beyound cuteness.

i hadn't even walked through the door & he already has my gift in his hands ready for me to open. i said we should wait for christmas but he would not hear of it. (a boy after my own heart - i hate waiting to open gifts!!!)

i open it to find this:

i'm not a pin kind of person but it was from my oldest son, who picked it out himself. i was proud! now i just need to find somewhere to put it... any ideas?
i hugged him & he hugged back - like a 3 minuted hug. at that moment the angle pin was worth $20 by itself.

for his dad he bought a little tool set:

for brock he bought something i think he really wanted!

You should wear it everyday on whatever outfit you are wearing Misty!! Its from Kaden! So good luck with that.....
That is a very good lesson for kids to learn, to think of others. And how sweet that he was so excited!

Oh, so sweet. I would wear it to church or something so he sees how proud you are of it. And yes MWS was fun. Did you know he just had a 2nd grand-child? I guess I forgot how old he was.

I remember having Christmas stores at my elementary school. I loved picking out gifts for each member of my family on my own. It was such a special memory for me.

Hey Girl! We go to Real Church, it is a fairly new church (5 yrs). We have been there for 4 years. I know exactly where your church is, pass it everyday! So funny, I bet we live super close to each other!

What great gifts!!!
Wear that pin everyday between now and the new year then pin it to the visor of your car (if it's cloth) so you can see it everyday.
When Zane was in kindergarten they had a spring tea for the students and moms. Each child made their mom a hat from poster board and tissue paper. Mine had a VERY wide brim like a sombrero!! He picked the colors to match my Easter outfit. You can bet I wore that hat to church on Easter Sunday. Everyone said how much they "loved" my hat and I proudly told them that Zane had made it especally for me. He has never been prouder.
